Would definitely lose the deposit, I’ve heard of that before. Might need to beg for the player card?
You won't need to beg for your player card. All players are protected from this by the state governing body VYSA. Just have your new club request your player card from the old club. And if the old club does not release it in 5 days, the new club puts the request into VYSA, so they can transfer your card for you.
If the team is ECNL or ECNL RL, players are carded through US Club, not VYSA (USYS). Some clubs can and will block you - or make your life difficult (eg pay for the full year) if you are trying to move from one ECNL club to the other. Even if you’ve paid for the year, they can still hold you - not that common, but does happen. Contact Arlington and see if they will entertain having your kid to a couple of practices asap and see how it goes. Tell them you have an offer and will need to make a decision quickly, so need an idea of team placement. They might work with you, they might not, but it’s a better - and cheaper - option than to accept and then back out.
