I'm not as worried about them being perfectly clean as being in the habit.  The people who only have their kids shower 1-3 times a week usually have to fight and argue with their kids to get it done.  If it's just part of your nightly routine, they just do it.  So I don't care if they wash perfectly head to toe with soap and a washcloth, because they are plenty clean as a baseline because they shower daily.[/quote]

I agree with this, but you might have cause and effect backwards. I have a kid who showers 3x a week because it's incredibly hard to get her in the shower-- it wears me down. She showers Sunday night and after the two nights a week she has sports. In the summer she showers daily because of swimming, and it's easier because she knows she has to shower after pool or beach and doesn't fight it. During the school year when she's coming straight from school or girl scouts or ballet, she will fight so hard it's just not worth it.[/quote]
