I’m an outdoor runner who has never liked treadmills but I got the new tread plus a month ago and am obsessed. Love the content, the auto incline that syncs with class, and the belt feels great on my legs that take a beating daily on the roads. I’m still in the honeymoon period but so far Very happy with it. It is an enormous machine though.
The tread plus really is enormous. I disassembled and moved mine myself because the crew that came to move it wouldn’t do it because a small set of stairs was involved. I did it with my neighbor and a dolly. What a horrendous experience that was. So that’s a long way of saying anybody that gets one should be confident where it is placed. As far as maintenance, there is no real guidance. I found an old Reddit thread about some zerk fittings for grease. I haven’t successfully managed to get peloton to send somebody to install the new rear guard, so I’ll see if those techs have anything to say about the grease zerks. Otherwise, total tank. Like 6-7/min miles for 2 hour at a time tank, repeatedly. The regular peloton tread is just a belt tread, so that’s a hard no. And the new wahoo one is also just a belt tread, which was a huge disappointment for endurance dorks out there.
I have no idea how you disassembled and moved it yourself! That’s seriously impressive.
Necessity begets extreme action or some such. Like I said, it was a massive pain in the ass. I’m surprised we didn’t hurt ourselves moving the deck. It really was horrendous. I wouldn’t do it without a decent amount of mechanical knowledge (I’m an engineer by training and used to work on my own race cars). And peloton forced my hand. I used the assembly manual and a torque wrench. I found the thread re: the grease zerks. Mine has never squeaked so I’m hesitant to do anything. If I have time tomorrow, I’m going to see if I can find them: https://www.reddit.com/r/pelotoncycle/comments/hxpobe/tread_tip_for_deck_bearings/. Mechanically, the deck bearings shouldn’t “use up” grease, and the zerk is there for the factory assembly process (or should be) If I need another treadmill, I will be buying the tread+ again. I use the scenic videos, although I use the longer 90-60 ones over and over and over again. I know where all the dogs are and I tell my wife the time stamps for when she does walking on there. Never had any issue transitioning and racing outside.
