As an elementary teacher, I'm more curious about the teachers! Do they get to just stop teaching at that point?
I was under the impression that the last day for seniors (may 24 for my senior) is only for seniors who have passing grades, and have met all obligations (returned uniforms/books, completed service hours, fully passing required courses, no fees, etc). Any senior who may have some work to do, use the remainder of the year to get those things in. Teachers still have classes, because other than English 12, there are a number of grade levels in each class. AP Calc may have some juniors, etc.
