I have a hard time believing this is a real post from a high school kid. A freshman taking pre-calc in 9th grade is obviously on an advanced and super competitive math pathway.
It seems more like a question a mom would post.
Nah I’m a child but I was asking this cause I think this is average if not below average at poolesville
Many WPES kids had the option to accelerate so they would've already taken A2 or Precalc by 9th grade.
Approximately 0 people in MCPS take precalculus for credit before 9th credit. Most of the (approximately 0) who take calculus in 9th got their precalc credit from a private school. Most of the people who take Algebra 2 in 8th and go to Blair SMACS (since they are not in Poolesville SMCS boundary) will downshift to take "Precalculus" along with the students who took Geometry in 8th. Only a few take Functions.
I personally know a couple kids who have taken precalc in 8th or are on track to now. There are always kids like this every year.
