For those who haven’t watched the today show lately the show is very much changed and is now catering very much to an older, possibly more rural audience who still have cable and haven’t gotten rid of it for streaming, etc. The show has really changed and they’ve stopped trying to get a young audience like they were trying to get a decade to go. They did away with their orange room tech segment, entirely, and now there is lots of talk about faith and religion, really easy workouts, like chair yoga, etc.

And yet the past year there have been so many times where they have started the show with “shocking” abortion news like the Alabama IVF issue, and today the Arizona ruling. Not eventually covering it but leading with it and doing a good job of showing the extremes.

It is becoming clear that a lot of people thought anti abortion laws would not apply them, because they are good white Christians, and they are now seeing that theyare applying to them if they get unlucky during pregnancy, or they need fertility treatments. This is a huge sea change compared to what was happening a few years ago.[/quote]
