What center school are you trying to get into? Get the forms submitted by school first to review the weakness in the package. One year I found lots of errors in the student Info section. Example make sure your child is checked off as ESOL , is your child level II now or YS , make sure that’s listed. Get a test done discuss with private psychologist which test is better to counter the weak spots , but put together a cover letter to address the low verbal score and why your child needs to be out of the general classroom[/quote]

The cover letter needs to be from you, the parent. The letter needs to address why the child’s needs can’t be met in the regular classroom. The parent knows their child the best and the parent is best positioned to detail the reasons the child cannot do well in the regular classroom. Those reasons are probably the most important part of the appeal packet, arguably more important than new test scores.
