+1. There's 3000 kids at a school and three of the varsity starters mysteriously transfer from other public high schools. Coaches should have to select their teams from the kids in boundary for that school.[/quote]

Transfer on what basis?  Can coaches do this for basketball reasons?  Or is it done by a supposed school-related work-around (e.g., kid moves to new HS to allegedly take a foreign language his old HS doesn't offer)? [/quote]

An address will be offered if they really want the kid.   It’s unfortunate but it happens. They don’t pretend to transfer for academic reasons.   Everyone knows this and no, it’s not reported.  We know this has happened in other sports too.  [/quote]

My kid’s AAU coach offered an address we could use in Maryland to transfer to the school where he coached b/c DC wasn’t getting playing time.  We didn’t consider it, but DS could have started as a sophomore.  [/quote]
