In 91 days, since December 31. I’ve lost 1lb. :( My face is thinner, my clothes a little loser but that’s it. Scale isn’t budging. I am also 45 and perimenopausal so quitting alcohol was probably not a quick fix. Admittedly, I don’t have a lot of weight to lose. I’d love 5-10lbs. I am very active and most days I hit my protein goals and stay in a calorie deficit. But I think I have been consuming too much sugar- 1. I have a sweet tooth and 2- my body was craving it a lot as I adjusted from the no alcohol and I haven’t been serious about limiting it. I think it’s what is really needing to go next. Not sure I have it in me to apply my alcohol mindset to sweets but I need to try or at least seriously limit it. Any tips?
In the same time frame since December 31, I've lost more than 20 lbs. I controlled my diet to about 1500 calories a day, increased exercise, and all but eliminated sweets and alcohol. Calories in < calories out. It's that simple. If you're actually serious about losing weight, you should start by fixing your caloric intake. This will require you to drastically reduce your sugar intake. When you have a calorie budget, can either chose to A) burn through your budget by eating highly caloric sweets and feel hungry as a result, or B) spend your budget on high quality carbs and protein and eat moderately sweet things like fruit and feel full as a result.
