What would make me feel better is if the District would permit minors to be tried and sentenced as adults for 1st degree homicide, as is the case in other jurisdictions. I'd feel much better if these little itty bitty children were incarcerated for 20+ years if they are convicted of repeatedly stomping an elderly man's skull so hard that his brains leaked out the back of his head onto the pavement.
