Completely speculative but maybe they are being selective about it? That is, considering other factors besides raw score maybe to balance the incoming class out.

That doesn’t sound like it would be lawful so another reason is to manage families expectations about their chances of getting in.

We are declining our spot to go private but it was a very hard choice. I think it’s a very good program and I’m very proud that my DC got in. [/quote]

Thanks for your thoughts.  Perhaps.  Congrats on your child getting in.  This whole experience has been worse than I could have ever imagined. First- no letter ever came in the mail, then They miscalculated my child’s score and were not reachable for almost two weeks before the deadline to reply, then-  got back to me with a recalculated score after the deadline saying DC was waitlisted but can’t give me a number.  I’m very disillusioned by the system and am not getting my hopes up about the waitlist.  Now- seeking other options for sure. [/quote]
