Nothing too crazy. It was probably a bit of an upset for Metro to beat Paramount at 15s. I think generally the Paramount 15s are stronger. Similarly, I think the Metro 13s have struggled with MDJRs 13 Elite Black so that was probably a minor upset.

Metro Travel teams had a good day overall winning gold and getting a National bid at 13s, 15s, 16s, and 17s and getting 2nd and an American bid at 14s. Paramount also had a good day winning first and getting National bids at 11s and 14s. Overall, Paramount had a team in the top 4 spots of every age group. I believe that means that after today they have a team with at least some kind of bid at 11s, 12s, 14s, 15s, 16s, and 17s.  As of right now Paramount does not have a bid in 13s although with their 4th place finish they might still get a bid depending on how the reallocations go. It's seeming more and more unlikely that Paramount 18s will get a bid to USAV nationals. They were waitlisted for CHRVA regionals a few weeks ago and haven't earned an Open bid at a qualifier yet. They are playing at the Music City Qualifier in New Orleans this weekend and missed the top half on Friday so they are out of contention for a bid. I suppose they could still hope for an at-large bid.

VA Elite did ok in their first regionals in a long time. The VAE 17s came in second and earned an American bid. They beat Paramount in the semis which is a bit of an upset, especially since since one of VAE 17s top outside hitters is out with a sprained ankle. The VAE 16s came in 6th and could potentially get a reallocated bid depending on how things play out with CHRVA getting additional bids.
