Poor people of color always have it harder than poor whites or rich people of color. Rich whites have it easiest. Among the rich whites, there are distinctions of religion (mostly Christians vs Jews), education, cultural origins, and of course the degree of wealth. There. That's the hierarchy, which you already knew about.
The above is an oversimplified perspective. All of these relationships depend on context. A poor latino or white person has a “harder” time than a black person in the most impoverished neighborhoods of DC while a poor black person has a much harder time in rural West Virginia. A poor Latino immigrant has a much easier time in latino ethnic enclaves while a poor black/white/asian/etc person will have a harsher experience. All of these different experiences are happening every day mere miles from one another. Painting a meaningful picture using skin color alone is not so simple or effective.
