The Post covers local news and high school sports, and it occasionally features local stories on its front its page. It did recently eliminate the Outlook Section which had some excellent local opinion pieces, and eliminated most local columnists. The Metro section is also shrinking and the print edition now has filler non-local stories (in the Metro section)! [b]It’s a sad evolution, but it’s still the local paper of record.[/b] You can’t even buy the print edition outside of the D.C. area, unlike the NYTimes, WSJ, and FT which are available all over the country.

Sadly there is little benefit to buying the Sunday edition these days (over any other day), what was a nice relaxing slow read with perks like the magazine and Outlook.

WJLA definitely leans right. The other stations also leech of the negative news so lean right but not as much.

The only non partisan and purely objective news source specifically for Montgomery County is Moco360. It grew out of what was once the sister publication to another nonpartisan, objective online news source Arlnow. [/quote]

I would not call moco 360 objective. Maybe on par with the area it serves, but very much on the left. Same with all of the news stations including Fox 5 which would surprise those expecting Fox News out of it. WJLA leans right and coverage of negative news by other news stations does not make them lean in either direction.

Montgomery Community media has interns that just kind of take stories and rewrite them so not much of a source in general.

If you compare numbers across the board the moco show which is sometimes news and sometimes a show like the name says, are first in the county with the quick hitter approach and basically any county press release. It’s more than just the gym teacher but it used to be the teacher and Steve Solomon from 980.

Moderately moco seems to be trying to get in with anyone he can and seems to have found a home with the upper mid class but I would say because they share similar beliefs and not a fear mongering agenda as someone said earlier. He has to stop pandering to the scanner kid who shared by just about everyone and is definitely a fear mongerer.

Robert Dyer has good restaurant news but very behind for most parts of the county outside of Bethesda. He certainly has an agenda but he also can’t be taken seriously so it does not really matter. I sift through the political opinions and take the good bits of info he has.

Source of the spring was very good but not they have taken the approach of just writing whatever they want for hits. Not sure what happened there but we used to love source of the spring here for hyper local coverage.[/quote]
