Take a look at what you think you can reasonably do, then do your level best to coordinate other parents taking on some of these tasks. Then, if stuff doesn't get done it is a "collective failure" of the classroom's parents that stuff didn't happen. Note that I put "failure" in quote because from the very vague stuff I'm reading between the lines, it sounds like this teacher is asking too much. Maybe one year the teacher got some completely psycho helicopter parent who kept asking for more stuff to do, and that parent's list of room parent activities became the "new normal" for that teacher.
Any way you can compare notes with other room parents at your particular school, to find out what they are expected to do? [/quote]
