Here is a question that I ask assuming that there are no stupid questions. We are new to these tournaments and we don't understand some of what happens in the volleyball world. I noticed that CHC used Sport Wrench for tournament management and the results never transferred to Advanced Event Systems. That means teams played a bunch of games that will not count toward their rankings. Does anyone know why? Is there a website that keeps track of all the games (those in Sport Wrench, Advanced Event Systems, and maybe other tournament management systems that I am not aware of)?
It is up to the club to manually submit results from a sportwrench tournament into the AES system- which most of the competitive clubs do.
When results from SportWrench (and other systems) are manually added to AES by a club, those wins and losses will be reflected in the AES ranking aggregate totals but you won't be able to see individual tournament finishes like you can for AES tournaments. Since Capitol Hill finished on Monday and the AES rankings are updated early Tuesday mornings, I'm guessing CHC results haven't yet been reflected in the AES rankings. Adding to the complexity this year is USAV has introduced its own ranking system that only uses results from USAV sanctioned events https://usavolleyball.org/play/usa-volleyball-national-rankings/. So results from JVA, AAU, or unsanctioned tournaments won't be counted in calculating the USAV ranking. Capitol Hill is a USAV sanctioned event so those results will count. I assume that USAV will be using the new ranking system for seeding at National Qualifiers and for the National Championship tournament. This is the first season for the USAV ranking system and most clubs set their schedule in the fall, so I don't think most were able to consider the impact of this new ranking system. It will be interesting to see whether clubs that hope to attend USAV Nationals change the tournaments they typically attend to maximize their USAV rankings in future seasons.
Is CHC an USAV sanctioned event or not?
