There's no track record of Arlington keeping their teams together either. Right now their 2011's are the talk of the town for their respective age group. Same probably was said about another, I think people before said they had a talented 08 group years ago, maybe it was another age. Unlikely they keep that team intact for years.
08s never lost players.
Well that's not good either if that's the team that people have said was a good one before a few years ago around U13. They're not very strong now.
They never cut and they don't develop. This is why by age 16, their teams aren't very good.
Their ECNL rosters NEVER change. At most 1-2 kids every few years.
Developing from within is good. We want that. Oh, unless the team becomes less competitive because all the other clubs are recruiting new players every year. Then we should start cutting and recruiting, too. Can't beat them so join them. No, we develop! We'll turn away the better playres who show up at ID sessions because we are loyal and develop our own players.
Duh. If you are developing from within the IDENTICAL/SAME players would not always be on the top team. Kids don't ALL develop in that manner. A club (I've been at one) that truly is developmental--has a lot of movement over the years and a lot of playing up/down, bio-banding, etc. A club that has 100 kids in an age group and the same 10 are on a team from U8-U18 is not developmental. Kids CHANGE so much in that time.
It doesn’t sound like development, it sounds more like stealing players from other clubs, and misplacing the age team players by moving up younger ones taking spots that align to the year of college commitment. Why the younger players if they are that good can’t help their own age? I understand moving one or two but half of the team?
Hello--again, a teenager will get cut if there is a better teenager. In a club with 6 age groups--if a kid isn't succeeding on the A team and there are better kids at that point in time--the kid moves down to his appropriate level--when he physically matures or technically gets better---he comes back up. That is what development is. It isn't keeping all the kids just because at ag 8 they started on the A team. Get it?
^ meant 6 teams per age group.
