Academically it’s on par with the local publics, in some ways better. As for the rest of it? What my child won’t experience is daily fights in the cafeteria. Knowing which bathrooms to avoid because that’s where the drug deals take place. Openly disruptive kids in class. A focus on character, and staff who know each student by name. No school is perfect but our family is looking forward to putting behind us the worst parts of our public school experience next fall.
Well said! We chose DJO to have a high school experience kids are supposed to have (but nowadays unfortunately difficult at some public schools) Meet like-minded students, participate in clubs, prepare for college, and no need to be afraid of disrupting students (and go to bathrooms). For us, the religious aspect was a plus as well. This is the only school where they asked for a discipline form signed by the middle school principal (maybe other schools could check from transcript but still) We could agree to disagree, not all people have the same purpose for selecting where to go.
