I think one underrated feature of colleges is how compact they are. At some of these sprawling campuses you can waste a lot of time just getting to class. Wow- they definitely increased the standards since the time your friend apokied for the waiver.  Now you need a 1420/32 and 4.0 to be considered. Also- no stipend.  I did notice that some Florida schools are downgrading their merit- at least for OOS.  UCF got rid of their Knights of Achievement - which was supposed to give the full OOS tuition waiver.  These schools are becoming so popular and selective with OOS that they no longer need to give as much money.  Kind of Clemson - they used to give around $22k for OOS- but now give around $13k.
