Stayed about 10 miles east of Avignon at a 4 room bnb that unfortunately looks like it is no longer operating. It was fantastic. A car is pretty important if you want to see the best things of the area. Definitely look for little family farm/restaurants as well,we did one of those for dinner one night and it was the highlight of our trip.
