DS11 in fifth grade got all A’s in first marking period and MAP scores above 95th percentile. This report card had two C’s. I have reached out to the teacher to see what happened but is this a scenario where you would expect communication in advance of the report card at any point? Does any MCPS policy require parent communication for an ES kid who drops two letter grades? I am obviously upset with DS more than the teacher but I want to know what is far to expect from the teacher here.
This is not meant to sound rude at all. But, you have access to ParentVUE where you can monitor and look at all of her grades. Is she missing assignments? Is she bombing quizzes? Do you have the information at your finger tips.
In ES they don't post grades at all. There is no paper trail. They don't list any assignments. The grade book is just blank. This is why I think the grades are made up.
