No. I consider all fast food expensive. I feed my family home cooked meals most every meal, including packed lunches and I spend approx $125/week at the grocery store. That is about $17 a day on food for a family of 4. I could not feed all 4 of us for $17 a day if we ate any sort of fast food. I don't get it when people declare that junk food/fast food is cheap. It's not.
I consider pizza to be inexpensive, but we also purchase high quality ingredients. Last night, we had organic roasted broccoli ($5), heritage breed pork chops ($20), organic tomatoes for dinner. When we order pizza, we spend about $20-25, which is about what we spend on dinner last night but I didn't have to cook or clean up. Win Win.
We eat in a smilar fashion, except I cut corners by buying my meat in bulk and growing garden of items we eat regularly (tomatoes, broccoli, chard, brussel sprouts, beets) Also, for meat, we simply don't eat a ton of it. For instance, Sausage is often for flavoring, but does not take the main spotlight on the plate. It takes us a year to eat a half of a pig and 18 months to eat a side of beef.
