Especially not if you come in at 7th or 9th when parents become much more peripheral to kids’ social lives. The handful of parents I know at my kid’s new HS were ones that came from the same k-8 and I’d already known for 4+ years. My kid is in theater and I plan to volunteer with the parent org that supports those efforts, so I imagine I’ll get to know a few more, but that’s it. [/quote]
