I don't have a problem with a son treating his father, as long as he has some other physician (perhaps another doctor in his practice) who can step in if there is anything serious that happens.  However, I think the stretch of ethics for me is for him to be treating the father without letting the father know that he is the son.  That to me is a breach of ethics.  A patient should have the right to know that their doctor has a conflict of interest in their own care.[/quote]
