This is Op. I guess part of it is that I lack the motivation to start anything new like piano or art. This wasn’t a problem when I was younger, and I had so much more drive and interest in life, I think part of it is the divorce made me so tired. Not depressed, because I am much better off without him. Just kind of spent. I feel exhausted and boring and like I don’t have a lot to give to someone new.
DP: yeah, do it anyway. Also, be open to the possibility that you might be depressed and/or grieving — just labeling it something different. Loss of interest or pleasure in enjoyable activities is one of the signs of depression. So is fatigue. I’m not saying that you are depressed — more that being open to the possibility might lead you to some useful interventions.
