I’m in MC MD and the closest location I could see yesterday was Georgetown. Wonder why there’s not a wider distribution?
This is not surprising. The studio made that call and decided not to spend money on wider Distribution. Its supply and demand.Movie theaters want to fill seats and sell candy They prioritize movies that have spent a lot on advertising and marketing and will sell more tickets. From the movies perspective…. Not sure who produced but Production studios have partnership with larger theaters - regal and AMC.. Independent films usually need a limited release to build buzz then do a wider release. They have demographic and box office data from VARIOUS and know where their audience is. If they release it initially in 1000 theaters and not enough attended then it would “bomb”, which is worse. Personally, this sounds like I’m the demographic and I never heard of it. :)
