It is true that whether the school counts it as unexcused will depend on that school's principal. It would be a pretty aggressive move for the school to unenroll a kindergartner. I'd start with the teacher and be upfront about it, explain these plans were made before deciding to go to this school. It's just kindergarten, though. OP's child will have plenty of time to get used to the routine before the trip and then get back into the routine after the trip. [/quote]
