Many of the waitlist kids at GZ were offered spots by May. There’s also quite a few of them now failing a class or two.
How could you possibly know this?
Moms talk. And it’s widely known by the legacy families that GZ admits unqualified kids off the waitlist since they can’t fill all the seats. About twenty to thirty of those kids struggle and end up leaving after freshman year.
This person has no clue. 20-30 kids do not leave Gonzaga after freshman year. That’s ridiculous. Maybe a handful leave for various reasons but I have 3 boys and I know for sure that none of their classes had more than that not return for sophomore year. Also, while I believe legacies can get in with much lower scores, I think they just get in. Not waitlisted first, as PP implies. I know a few waitlisted boys from our 3 admissions cycle and they were all qualified and all did just fine once they got in.
