I'm not sure why everyone is slamming the OP. I agree that 9:15 is late to start school and creates problems for working parents. Why isn't he entitled to verbalize this?
For me, it was the tone OP took -- kind of like "how dare the school system do this to ME?" It is just a few weeks before school starts, you'd have thought even parents of new students would have worked out a plan to handle all of this by now. Bahaha...just wait until OP realizes how many random days off his child will have, at least in MoCo! I'm sure that was also an evil plan to screw up his life, as well :P
A problem with many posters is they read way too far into posts and pull something that was clearly not stated. The post is not a "how dare you do it to Me". As another posted stated its more of a how does this make sense to EVERY parent who works a 9 to 5. If if was just something I thought was a personnel issue I would have never posted. The fact that this post is appearing a few weeks before school starts is due to a drastic change in circumstances where initially DC was not going to be attending MC schools. Posters should spend less time guessing why or why not a post has been made a more time addressing the question/dilemna presented. It doesn't matter when the issue is brought up if its one that affects many parents and ways can be looked at to help the posters situation. Which I'm guessing is the true PURPOSE of these boards. I've already seen the list of days off which I'm sure is also a problem with many parents however, its less of an issue than this one which affects every single day of a parents life.
