Ex has well off parents who are still alive and spend differently than my dad did(like they paid for half of ex’s house so ex can make less and still live well and pay for a lot of family vacations but they don’t have accounts for kids/grandkids). So using the 529 money for my share wouldn’t prevent my kids from going where they want or drive ex to the poorhouse, but would allow me to save more of my own income.[/quote]
