It’s not as LDS as you would think and attracts a larger share of international students than similar campuses. I think the public figure is 35% LDS but the reality is closer to 25% or less who are active. In-state LDS kids who are more eager to follow a standard Mormon young adult life path are more likely to go to UVU if they aren’t BYU types. UVU is 80% LDS.[/quote]
Agreed, LDS students are there but they kind of keep to themselves IME and I wouldn't say they have an outsized influence on the university culture. Which is interesting because in pretty much all other facets of life in Utah (government, business, laws, etc.) the LDS church has an outsized influence but it's almost like the U is seen as a "safe space" or protected (relatively speaking, at least) from all of that.
