A 40 year old man who has never married is - in my estimation - a walking red flag. It's not normal. I'm sure there are exceptions, but I haven't met any. So, you'll need to choose. Go young. Lots of single, childless men in their late twenties or early thirties  Or be willing to consider seeing men who have had a prior life and likely have children and joint custody.

The percentage of good single men between 38-43 who have never been married and don't have children but want to start a family is going to be a very small pool.
