An acquaintance turned into a friend when I said two sentences about my mom that would sound politely neutral to most and she said, “I don’t know how to say this, but it sounds like she might have a personality disorder.” OP, my hope for you is that you can feel similarly seen and understood in real life. And in the meantime, there are so many kind strangers here whose random comments have kept me going through dark, confusing times.
