It could be just fine, but you just never know what they might walk into and without a medical background or understanding of what to do I would be very uncomfortable of a parent of that high schooler. For my mom, we installed cameras, altered our schedules we also have many retired neighbors that have been more than happy to stop in for lunch, a quick "hello" visit etc. So sorry you are going through this right now.
