The OP asked about rates and the truth is that most schools don't publish that data. General consensus is the Potomac, STA and GDS are in the 10-15% acceptance rate and, as others have mentioned, Flint Hill is markedly higher.
It really depends on the grade. STA has approximately 10 or fewer spots open in 4th grade depending on how many Beauvoir boys are accepted and decide to attend. The Cathedral Foundation charter requires STA and NCS to prioritize admission for qualified students from Beauvoir. Beauvoir graduates about 85 students in 3rd grade, roughly half boys. Of the 40+ boys, some prefer to go on to coed or non-religiously affiliated schools. Approximately 80 to 85% of the boys who apply to STA are accepted. On average about 35 boys go on to STA leaving about 10 open spots. STA aims for 15 students for each of its three Form C (4th grade classes). Some years, a higher percentage of Beauvoir boys apply and are selected so you could be looking at only 4or 5 spots open for non-Beauvoir boys. 5th grade admissions is based on attrition only 6th STA adds another 10 students 7th another 10 9th last large entry year, admits about 20- 25 students for a graduating senior class of about 80-85. Beauvoir’s K admissions is at about or below the 10% mark. 21 students admitted, no sibling preference, over 200+ applications.
