What school?
I agree with you about summer math, but I wouldn’t assume much about a kid’s math acumen based on class placement in private school. A lot of it has to do with whether you are coming from an accelerated math program in public school prior to attending the school. My kid is in Algebra II in 10th (Catholic HS) and, suprisingly, it is not the norm. Class is primarily 11th grade students. Yes, some kids that came from public are a year ahead of my DC (ie, precalculus in 10th), but most students are in Geometry in 10th. [/quote][/quote]
