Advisory as a resource class for those who need it is exactly that: support for those who need it. If your child has an advisory class, either they need help and support, or, a mistake was made in scheduling.
Again, you’re wrong. Can you read? Other teachers are writing about their actual experiences and you’re just dismissing them as if you have a clue. For example, at my school, every single kid has advisory every single morning. It’s not for support. It’s not a “mistake” in scheduling. The entire school has it for 45 minutes before first period. We do various lessons each day. Sometimes it’s Nearpod, sometimes it’s IXL, etc.
Name the school. I want to know which MCPS school has a long enough school day for a daily 45 min advisory followed by academic periods and a 30 min lunch. Even back in 2003, when we had homeroom before period 1, it was 30 min or less.
