El Salvador’s bigger solution is just to allow most of their criminals to flee to the US, knowing there’s very little chance they’ll be stopped at the border, and after crossing it unmolested, they will be El Norte’s problem. Let’s not pretend they’ve developed some kind of criminal justice miracle down there, ok? For every hardened criminal they lock away, there’s dozens that are allowed to slip away to the north.
+1. Exactly. This. They roam the streets of Silver Spring and Rockville.
Actually, illegal migration from El Salvador has dropped by more than 50 percent in a year. The president is incredibly popular for the tough on crime approach. People have been suffering for a long time. They appreciate this. It turns out that when communities are safe, people want to stay. I would 100 percent support an approach like this in DC. But it will never happen. Because it will entirely be the chosen people that get picked up. And that's not happening in DC. There is zero chance DC is doing anything to incarcerate more black men.
