BEST ANSWER.  Not W&M, but this totally makes sense.  Some kids report scores to some schools but not others, and check a box saying they don't want scores reported.

+1.  My kid is at WM. Can attest that they will see and care about scores, should your kid choose to report them. Historically, it has seemed like WM puts more emphasis on tests scores than UVA and that top test scores can help offset a blemish in your grades (but not, say, more than one C).   But in an era when kids are putting in scores, but not using them for all schools, they need a work around.  I’m sure they are importing scores somehow from kids who choose to report. And what Harvard and Penn say makes sense.

But if your kid is worried, the correct answer is have them (not you) call admissions and ask. DCUM can speculate, but it’s unlikely anyone here knows the exact process by which scores are reviewed. It’s a reasonable question. So go directly to the source for an answer. [/quote]
