I’d Uber, but they don’t know if it’ll be an hour or five hours until they look at it, but feel like it’ll only take an hour, but they don’t know how long it’ll be until they can look at it, even though I have an appointment. 🙄 I think I might just stay put. Anyone ever done this? I’d do work/work calls, but I’m afraid it’ll be loud in the waiting area. There’s nothing nearby, not even a place for coffee. Should I just grin and bear it?
Is this a real question? Is this not something most adults have to plan for at least once a year, if not more often? Dealerships have whole waiting rooms outfitted with beverages and snacks entirely for this purpose. Sometimes they have employees who can give you a lift within X miles. Sometimes a loaner car. Me, I trade favors with neighbors and we give each other rides to/from the service place. When I've taken a car in when I was working in an office, a co-worker was the ride giver. Anyone ever done this? All of us have. All the time.
This must be an adult who never had a car before. Or their parent/spouse/partner always took care of every oil change, tire change, and maintenance. L
