Costco
No, just no. My MIL bough an apple and a pumpkin pie from there last year and they were both tasteless and nasty. Sure they are big and cheap, but you'll throw most if it out when even the kids refuse to eat it.
Just the opposite at my house. I made a pumpkin pie from scratch. Roasted my own pie pumpkins. The Costco pie was voted better. So demoralizing, and I didn't tell everyone I baked it from scratch. Only my husband knew.
Guess I am just a better baker  One of my kids loves pumpkin pie and my husband will eat just about anything because he hates waste. Costco pumpkin pie literally grew mold on the counter before it was thrown out. The apple was better than the pumpkin, but still not even close to homemade quality. Overly sweet with a soggy crust. We hate have pretty high standard for baked goods in our house and dislike most of Costco baked goods (croissants, danish, muffins all gross) and only really eat baked goods from real bakeries. I do like their opera cake and chocolate sheet cake though.
