I might be #1 because I am critical of the recent teacher raise. I think we voters give the union too much power. I don't blame the union for taking it, though. That said, they need to not wear a glass chin and accept some criticism. Whenever I criticize the union, I often find some 'I teach your crappy children and you are clueless' comment back. I did not see that on your list. Also, what I frequently hate on all forums is the passive aggressive "yawn" type of comment that fails to engage in discussion or directly respond.
If you are union-hating #1, then you post your anti-union points over and over again, to the point where it's impossible to discuss anything else. See the recent "Moving to VA/DC/MD" thread for an example, but not the only instance. Why do you do this? Why can't you post your thoughts once or twice and assume everyone has read them?
Me again. So I have posted against the MCPS union/apple ballot many times and I have been attacked for it (including the usual 'here's another union hater'). I did not post on the 'Moving to VA/DC/MD' thread, though, so maybe there are others. I actually try to lay out a case for my position. I am ok with people that disagree. I try not to call people names and write as if I was not anonymous and as if my kid's teacher was on the other end of the argument. I like my kid's teachers. I just don't like some of the policies of MCPS/union. Maybe the thing we all hate is when people respond to legitimate argument with "Your an idiot". It doesn't matter which side of the discussion you are on, it is the lack of respect that bothers me most. Kind of like our national politics....
This sounds absolutely reasonable - reasonable people can disagree. It's the poster on the "Moving to VA/DC/MD" thread who shut down that thread with repeated anti-union postings, and she's been on other threads. So maybe the problem is that other people are confusing you with her?
