There are so many newcomers now eager to work that 10% gets you your order. What makes me mad though is when they do another drop off on the way to me. I would’ve tipped less if I knew, but there is no way to know in advance, and I am not mean enough to change the tip on the fly.
This. It’s obnoxious to receive cold food because you’re double dipping. I hated that with cabs picking up additional fares too. Also when they forget one item, like a drink that was wrapped separately and leave it to me to contact the restaurant. Check your orders. I tip well and it stinks when the service doesn’t merit it. It should be after delivery like a regular Uber.
You can change the tip post delivery on Uber eats but the app bugs you with “was something wrong?!” I rate low if they can’t find my place (I have very elaborate instructions and still one out of ten can’t bother to read); if they keep calling me to find it; if they expect me to come downstairs to get it (I had a young man have the audacity to ask and I quipped back - for a $10 tip?! He apologized and brought to to the door) If the “bundle” the orders I just bear it.
