I don't live in the DMV so maybe it is different for you. He swims with our local Y, and this weekend warm up is at 3:30 and the meet is from 4 to 7. It is just vs another Y. Yes he is 5, but he is very mature and a very strong (and fast) swimmer. He is terrible at ball sports, so we are trying to show him soccer (which he is terrible at and the other kids let him know it) is not the be all end all of sports. Thanks for everyone who gave me snack advice!
He's 5 - how could you possibly reach such a conclusion at this age? To be blunt, this is a disservice to your son.
Oh I sign him up for soccer, baseball, etc. and he plays soccer daily at recess. But the kids are very mean to him about his ability both on and off the field. But I will keep signing him up and cheering him on until he makes the call himself. In the meantime, he's a fantastic swimmer, he enjoys being on a team and going to practice and even won a race. All of this is such a tangent on a thread requesting snack ideas, but I guess I should have known better. Well done, DCUM!
