Over 65% of Poolesville students graduate with over 4.0 weighted, over 3.5 unweighted GPA. https://www2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/siteassets/schools/high-schools/k-q/poolesvillehs/uploadedfiles/about/phs20profile2019-20.pdf?n=2703
That's so amazing! Kids are so much smarter today! When I was in HS @MCPS less than 5% even had an A average.
Definitely there is some grade inflation. But also I my Poolesville smacs kid worked many times harder than I ever did. They truly loved the smacs program, the peer group and almost all the teachers. As for tips on how to succeed, I can only offer what I saw my kid do which was staying organized, self-teaching where needed, and reaching out proactively in the case of any missing grades, etc. I believe it also helped being a natural math student.
