I’m a teacher. I’ve worked most of this Sunday and I’m nowhere near done. I hate the idea that working 10 or so hours on a weekend day should be normalized for teachers. My DH reminds me that the reason teachers are only given 45 minutes a day to do half our jobs is because we continue to make it work. He is adamant that we should all stick to our contract. That means grading won’t get done. Recommendation letters won’t get written. Emails won’t get responses. He says that’s when teachers will start to be respected, when we collectively refuse to be taken advantage of. [/quote]
