My male Scottish relatives wear kilts to weddings, which makes for very good wedding pictures. But they don't wear them to much else. If you tried for the kilt, you'd have to accessorize properly to avoid looking like Axl Rose. The whole outfit, if I can remember this right, involves a short jacket, sporran (sort of a fur bag) and a dirk/dagger in the socks. The dagger really completes the look (lots of fighting in Scotland), but you might have trouble entering government buildings with it. Plus, be prepared to answer questions about which clan your tartan represents. It could end up being a lot of work....[/quote]
