Notwithstanding the 9-2 win, SYC style of play is meh. Seems to be the plan was to pounce on Achilles mistakes, of which there were many, and run with it, or make long passes.  Or to pass to the goalie to boot the ball. If there was a game for SYC to practice possession and create plays, this was it. Achilles kids skew smaller and SYC seems to be big and faster kids.

That said, good defending for SYC players. Getting the ball from Achilles players was way too easy.

I posted earlier saying they have physically imposing players at certain spots on the field.  I did not watch the whole video, but I think they play pretty damned well.  Smart players, good vision, not overdependent on superior size or speed.  They know how to play.  Is it perfect?  No, but these kids have talent and will only get better.

They were overdependent on speed and size when they didn’t have to be.

They never played from the back even when they were leading by a lot. Almost all goalie kicks were to the other half. Really missed opportunity for creative plays. [/quote]
