If so, what does passing the AP exam have to do with a future college accepting the community college credits?[/quote] He is taking precalculus before 9th grade, and I’m not sure if the high school he’ll go to will accept the class, which is why I think the AP will help. The main reason is to check that he really mastered the material or if he needs to retake the following year. If he gets a 5 he’ll go onto calculus, if not repeat. Many students that do DE or IB take the AP exam as well, because it’s more straightforward to get credit, which is given for the AP [b]exam[/b], not necessarily for the class.[/quote]
