Having a mid life crisis at 63. Want to buy a convertible. I realize the Camaro, Mustang and Wrangler convertibles I am too old for. The Audi seems like a nice convertible. What do you think? Any other suggestions?
at 63, its late life crisis buddy
I googled and 40-60 is mid life crisis age range. So a little older. I had my first mid life crisis at 24 when I bought a 1976 Jeep CJ7 Bicentennial Convertible with a lift kit, huge Eagle on hood and Levi package seats, then at 26 a Red Jeep Wrangler Convertible followed by a Mercedes convertible at 31 as the crisis was my youth and being single ending soon and once married no more fun cars. By 38 had the three row vehicle, kid in back, house in suburb. This will be my second mid life crisis and a convertible is always the answer. Just this time older. So need a more mature convertible. I doubt driving a CJ7 Jeep lifted in air with monster tires and graphics at 63 will be cool like when I was 24 picking up 22 year old girls for a drive to the beach! I felt silly in it by 26.
Do yourself a favor - DO NOT search out what the CJ you just described is worth today. You’ll never forgive yourself for not putting it in storage for 40 years.
DP I searched it….Holy Crap!!!!!
I sold it for $1,500 with 69,000 on odometer. It came from factory no AM/FM Radio as it had a CB radio with a monster cool big CB Antenna on back of Jeep. It was rare as had Levi package with full denim seats plus Special bicentennial edition with a huge American Eagle on hood. Had the 304 CI and stick. Factory push bars and factor trailer hitch. I sold it to a Gardner who wanted it for the hitch and big engine. I recall him saying will be in his garage maybe driving 1,000 miles a year just in summer to pull his trailer with lawn stuff. He was happy with low mileage. It might still be around
